Cindy, when I first read about shadow writing I didn't know what the person was talking about! After I figured it out I thought "Oh! What a cute way to say they copied the sentence!" I have some new freebies on my blog that you might like for pattern strips, using conversation hearts.
You mentioned the book the Shadow Writing came from and I can't find any reviews of the book (it looks like there are a lot of good ideas)and I was wondering if you use a lot of activities from this book or just the shadow writing. I have so many resources books (some very good ones and some not so good)but was curious how many ideas you use. I really liked the shadow writing activity for a center.
Thank you all for the nice feedback! My students have been really trying their best when shadow writing these last 2 weeks. I loved being able to give lots of compliments on their handwriting. It helps them to look closely at the details in print and to put their words on the line. I will work on a few more of these...
We did this today and the kids really did a great job! I think it was the best I have seen their handwriting in a really long time! Thanks so much for sharing it!
